With impeccably designed interiors by Knightsbridge-based Atelier West, this three-bedroom 1,700 sq ft family home challenged all preconceptions of what a terraced Victorian property could be. Entering the house and stepping onto a dramatic industrial-style wooden and steel staircase down to the double-height dining room and kitchen, it was clear this unique and contemporary home would be full of wonderful surprises.
The texture of the dining zone’s rustic floorboards and exposed brick walls contrasted beautifully with the refined bespoke cabinetry, a polished stone wall and a leather banquette, all details which made this a really special space for entertaining. The sleek and minimal kitchen units were illuminated by a skylight and kept the area looking clean and uncluttered.
Upstairs, the glamorous first-floor reception room had dramatic black-stained parquet flooring and a continuation of the polished stone wall from below. A study area led on to a lovely balcony. The master suite occupied the entire second floor and beautifully contrasted the black parquet flooring with delicate blush pink walls. The large marble-tiled en-suite bathroom with double basin was a soothing and luxurious space.
Two further bedrooms and a striking black mosaic-tiled Jack-and-Jill bathroom made up the accommodation on the second floor, topped off with a fabulous decked roof terrace on the fourth floor with views across Notting Hill. An exceptional example of boundary-pushing design.
