Wow. This must be one of the world’s most remarkable penthouses. Designed by Richard Hywel Evans Architects, this is a spectacular apartment that really pushes the boundaries of design. It includes not one but two top-floor apartments, with the two halves linked by a ‘skyway’ that affords breathtaking views across London.
The architects worked to create one harmonious property that takes full advantage of its rooftop position. With curved floor-to-ceiling windows throughout and a glass lift, the property redefines the modern penthouse. The roof terrace provides precious outside space and is designed to make the space feel as if it is floating above the cityscape.
As you might expect, the penthouse also has all the modern gadgets and high-tech devices as befits a state-of-the-art apartment. The owner spared no expense with the décor either, and used innovative techniques to meld the indoor and outdoor. Mirrors and highly polished surfaces reflect the natural light while natural elements are introduced through clever interior details, including actual tree trunks serving as the headboard in one of the five bedrooms.
In total, the penthouse spans nearly 4,000 square feet and included two kitchens, two receptions and five bathrooms. It set a new standard to which all other penthouses are now compared.
