Established in 2002, Archer Humphryes Architects are world-renowned experts for intelligent thinking in architecture and interior design, urban planning and landscape spaces, furniture and identity and even avian and nautical design ventures. The foundation of the firm is a focus upon niche projects that concentrate on designing ‘lifestyle’ spaces for eating, drinking, sleeping and being seen in, in both new environments and historic settings. They are a RIBA-chartered practice with an artistic approach always at the forefront of design development, always exploring how the modern world interacts with craftsmanship, texture and colour. With backgrounds that include working with Anda Andrei at Ian Schrager Hotels, and with Philippe Starck and Jean-Michel Wilmotte in Paris, directors Julie Humphryes and David Archer bring twenty years of experience from faraway places and diverse industries into current practice. They are the architectural masterminds behind Marylebone’s esteemed Chiltern Firehouse, deploying modern methodologies to resolve the exuberant Gothic style. In late 2017, they were tapped by developer Stanhope to design one of the most premium penthouse apartments at the old BBC site, Television Centre.
