Parsons Green has always been one of those places where life is jolly sunny, but recently it’s been beaming with cool thanks to Hally’s.
The brainchild of owners Anna Halliday and Philip Beatty, this latest space with beach café-style deli has already revolutionised SW6 [think California, Bondi or Miami]. With huge floor-to-ceiling doors that open up to marry the interior and the exterior and allow for al fresco dining, Hally’s is enchanting.
Contemporary charm and eco-conscious, natural and reclaimed materials rule the roost, while raw brick and decked walls have been painted white to give a relaxed ‘hacienda’ holiday feel. Original scaffold boards used for the tables, floors and units have been left with scars from their former life, like sandblasted driftwood.
Bursts of colour throughout stop the interior paling into any insignificance; take the uncoated-wood chairs that have been dip-dyed in pastels to complement the soft furnishings, bringing some West Coast surf culture to it all. Strong industrial colour comes from the Tolix-style bar stools, painted yellow to contrast with the pale wood.

Everything at Hally’s works so beautifully and in sync that you can’t help feeling uplifted. The food contributes to this too with its interesting, flavourful Californian fusion offerings using fresh, bold ingredients. Hally’s will hopefully be launching evenings soon too, where the same chilled vibe will remain but the food will be ramped up with delicious grilled fish and succulent tastes.
