Nestled in the heart of London’s creative neighbourhood, the architecturally striking project Cadence is the latest addition to King’s Cross vibrant cultural locale and continuously growing residential scene. A brilliant collaboration between renowned interior design practice Conran and Partners and developer Argent LLP, the final result optimises ‘space and light by blending neutral palettes with colourful details across the walls and surfaces.’
Punctuated with character within each separate pocket, all apartments and communal spaces within the building radiate sophistication and design-led living, with interiors flowing from dynamic and expressive to understated, calm and tranquil, creating various spatial environments. Brilliantly executed, innovative design and an elegant aesthetic were at the forefront of the project, and as Partner at Argent LLP and CEO of King’s Cross Robert Evans notes, “as buyers reassess what they look for in a home, it’s important to provide a true touchpoint and experience for what Cadence represents. We always think about the everyday needs and wellbeing of residents when designing homes and Conran and Partners has done a brilliant job creating warm, spacious and playful interiors that we know people want to live in.”
Fitted with floor-to-ceiling windows and private balconies which offer views of the south-facing vistas across King’s Cross and the manicured communal landscaped courtyard with its water feature, there is a effortless transition between indoors and outdoors for residents. Open-plan, featuring a desirable double-aspect and complete with details and material palettes that were developed specifically for the project, there’s an undeniable sense of opulence and warmth within each apartment and across the communal spaces.
Simon Kincaid, Partner at Conran and Partners noted, “our aim with the interiors was to celebrate the building’s exterior which has become so distinguished, yet ensure each apartment has their own personality. We’ve taken reference from the architectural form and applied it in a calm, subtle and abstracted way through the design and detailing.” Through its staging, independent UK-based studios and innovative designers were given a spotlight to showcase their work alongside styling items obtained from nearby stores, truly making the project unique.
The industrial past of King’s Cross and vibrant cultural scene has provided the ideal location for 67 acres of inspiring businesses, inspiring architecture, nuanced gastronomy concepts and stores, now including the fantastic residential addition that is Cadence.
